We won our first two Twenty20 matches comfortably. Here is a synopsis of our latest game against the Virgina Lions:

UMBC won the toss and elected to field first. Virginia Lions lost their first wicket on the very first ball with Chirag taking a good low catch of Sumeet's bowling. Sumeet and Rikin opened the bowling for UMBC and had good opening spells. Ranga, Prakash and Anand bowled well in the middle overs and kept on the pressure by not giving easy runs.

Virginia Lions lost wickets at regular intervals and ended up with 103/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Sunil Pathak was the top-scorer with 44 runs whereas Ankit Sehgal scored 21. Sumeet was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets while Anand got 2. Rikin and Prakash got a wicket each.

In reply UMBC got off to a good start with Eraj and Sumeet adding 25 runs for the first wicket. Sumeet scored 17 before getting bowled by Akash. Eraj scored 16 before getting out caught behind of the bowling of Rizwan. UMBC were 38/2 in 8 overs. Ranga scored 2 before being bowled by Ankit Sehgal, UMBC 45/3 in 10 overs. Rikin joined Anand and from there on the run-chase was as smooth as butter. The unbeaten partnership of 59 runs made sure UMBC won the game comfortably in the end with 7 wickets to spare. Both Rikin and Anand scored 33* with Rikin hitting 3 massive sixes.
